I live in the Midwest. This means that I only have a few months every year when the flowers are in peak condition. Therefore, it shouldn't surprise you that I spend most of the summer taking pictures of them.
One of my favorite flowers is the rose. From the American Beauty to heirloom roses, there is a tremendous variety. So naturally, I never get tired of taking pictures of them. Roses are a great subject for the macro photographer because you can capture beautiful angles, subtle curves of the petals, and shadows within the rose that are captivating. This is one of my favorite shots. it was created by focus staking 15 separate photos. More on focus staking later.
